VAGINAL DOUCHING...GOOD OR BAD

The word "douche" means to wash or soak in French. Douching is washing or cleaning out the vagina (birth canal) with water or other mixtures of fluids. The mixtures usually come in a bottle and can be squirted into the vagina through a tube or nozzle.Douching can change the delicate balance of vaginal flora (organisms that live in the vagina) and acidity in a healthy vagina. Any changes can cause an over growth of bad bacteria which can lead to a yeast infection or bacterial vaginosis. Plus, if you have a vaginal infection, douching can push the bacteria causing the infection up into the uterus, Fallopian tubes and ovaries.
Most women thinks douching helps them clean up their vagina but it is unhealthy...NO.. you shouldn't do that. the vagina has been designed to clean up itself by the production of mucous which washes away blood, semen and discharges..note that even healthy and clean vagina's have a mild odor. If the odor coming out of your vaginal is offensive then you should visit  a doctor because it may suggest the unset of an infection.
Keep the outside of your vagina clean and healthy by washing regularly with warm water and mild soap when you bathe. You should also avoid scented tampons, pads, powders, and sprays. These products may increase your chances of getting a vaginal infection. So NO..douching wouldn't prevent you from you from getting STI's ..it wont  prevent you from getting pregnant..so it shouldn't b used as a form of birth control though studies also show that douching can prevent a healthy pregnancy and increase risk of ectopic pregnancy...
